Something has been bothering me lately. Jack and I have tried to be environmentally conscious about our wedding decisions. We had an online RSVP form and posted maps online to prevent paper from being wasted. We went with an outdoor chapel which won't require the use of lights or heating. We also chose a reception location that disposes of food in an environmentally safe way. And now I realized that we have about 150 boxes for our wedding favours. Crap! What a waste. They're probably just going to get thrown out. And I already ordered them so I have to use them. I'm really kicking myself for not thinking of this earlier so that we could try to come up with some better alternatives. I feel like such a dumby. *sigh*

So we've gotten a good chunk of our RSVPs in - just over 1/3 of who we expected to say yes. So far everyone that has RSVPed have accepted. I'm wondering when we'll get some declines since it's not looking good for our b-list. Apparently some of the older people we invited aren't too happy about the online RSVP. They prefer a card or using word of mouth. Well too bad for them. I'm more concerned about the environment. So I'm really hoping that the rest of the RSVPs come in by the end of the month so that we can start creating our seating plan.
In other RSVP news, I actually had to message a bunch of people to make sure that they had actually received their invitations because I found out that a few people hadn't gotten theirs even though I mailed them out in Feb. I was so pissed off to find this out, especially since the ones addressed abroad arrived safely and the ones that didn't arrive went to Brampton from Toronto. Seriously, wtf Canada Post! I should file a complaint. Two that didn't arrive were addressed to the same address too (for two different groups of people). How can both invitations not arrive when they were both mailed together in Feb? I'm guessing that they both arrived together and some incompetent postal worker put it in the wrong mailbox and that bastard neighbour either threw out the mail that wasn't theirs or have been too lazy to give it back yet. I hate people who do that. Witholding, opening or destroying someone else's mail is illegal! ARGH! My precious invitations T_T. I wonder if I can demand that Canada Post reimburse me. Anyway, because of this I messaged a bunch of people to see if they had gotten their invites yet. And in a funny turn of events, this message caused a bunch to RSVP to the event. At least some good came out of this whole thing.
[edit] I sent a complaint to Canada Post. They better not ignore it. =/ [/edit]
