Skydiving

Dear God,

Please don't let Jack die today while skydiving...or impair himself in any way. And if something does happen, please help me refrain from killing Peter.

Love,

Engagement Shoot

We're having out engagement shoot today. We decided to use the Distillery District for our wedding shoot location and use Mel Lastman Square for the engagement shoot. Yay to free locations! So we're going to meet up with our photographer Sharon at 2:30. Today it's a high of 20 degrees with overcast. It should be a good day as long as it doesn't rain. No issues with rain (I've seen some really good shoots in the rain) but I don't have an umbrella to make the pics look good for a downpour. And on another plus side, no pimples! Thanks God! Is there anything more stressful than waking up on a day where a lot of photos will be taken of you and having pimples? I am very thankful. Jack wasn't as lucky. I told him that God had greater favour with me. Haha. =P

I really hope the pictures come out well. I'm not that photogenic. Jack should be fine though. His hair looks amazing. Note to self: get familiar with styling products.

Feasible Budgetting, RSVP, Ness

I am not sure how this happened since I've been crunching numbers for months now, but we have now officially saved enough to pay for the wedding. Woah! This wasn't supposed to happen for another couple of months. Thanks God! I guess really watching how much we spend plus saving a shitload of our income really paid off. Honestly, more than 85% of my paycheque went right into savings. We are blessed to even be able to do this because I know this is not feasible for everyone, especially with our current economic situation. I'm still not sure though how we could have this happen earlier than we expected, especially since we had to increase our budget a couple of times in the past couple of months. Either I underestimated how much we could save in our timeframe or...I don't know what other explanation there could be. Regardless we are super happy that we will not be cutting it close at the end of the line. One less thing to worry about. God is good. =)

On another note, more people RSVPed to the reception. Awesomeness! But the past couple of days have been dry and I really hope the rest will come in soon. The sooner we get the numbers the sooner I can start on the seating plan, figure out how many tables we will have, order centrepieces, start on favours, etc. So if you are reading this and have your invitation please try to RSVP soon. Pretty please to help keeps Ams happy. xoxo

In other super fabulous news, Ness' surgery went well and she is now at home resting. She had two close friends stay by her side pretty much the entire time - they stayed with her at the hospital in shifts and helped her with whatever she needed. I'm so grateful to them for all they've done for her. Ness was also visited my numerous members of her church family, which I'm sure really lifted her spirits. Thank God for community. So thanks for all those who prayed for her and wished her well.

Prayers For Ness

My cousin Ness, who is also my bridesmaid, is currently in a hospital in Seoul, South Korea. She teaches English there and also just enrolled into a seminary. She has been in some pain the past few days and was finally admitted to the hospital. She is going in for surgery early tomorrow morning Canadian time. Please pray for her surgery to go well and for her quick recovery. It's so hard to be so far away when things like this happen, but sometimes just a prayer can shatter those boundaries. Thank you.

Must Have Shots [Part 2]

Here are a couple more pictures in this series of "must have" shots. Personally I'd rather not have shots that are too cheesy but the style and lighting in these ones makes them more tasteful to me. The second one is more symbolic - looking out on the vastness of the future with each other while having God shine the way ahead.
