BIO
Jack resides in the GTA while employed as a web developer for a prestigious Canadian media company. His free time is spent mostly at home due to his hermit tendencies. When he does go out he enjoys attempting to get Peter drunk.
Ams recently graduated from an MA program in sociology and is currently working for a prestigious credit card company. She also lives in the GTA and spends her time working, sleeping, wedding planning, renovating her parents' house, and watching Gilmore Girls (she has all the seasons on DVD - deadly). She also rescues abused hamsters and loves browsing through power tool, renovation, and decorating catalogues.
THE STORY
Sometime in September 2003 Ams was browsing the internet for blogs on Dir En Grey and came across Jack's blog. After reading through some entries and despite finding out that he attended the inferior university down the road from her she decided to e-mail him. After chatting on msn and realizing they attended the same church they decided to meet up during a church service. Soon after that they went on their first date and have been together for five years. Jack and Ams attended their first Dir En Grey concert on November 16, 2008 - five years and one day after their first date.
THE PROPOSAL
Jack was house-sitting a condo in downtown Toronto for a friend and invited Ams up for the weekend. He took her our for their first fancy dinner to a Japanese restaurant (they were both poor students up until then). They came back to the condo and sat on the roof looking at the stars, the lake and the Toronto skyline. After about an hour they went back down to the condo to hit the sack...or so Ams thought. While she was getting ready for bed in the washroom Jack was getting things set up. She walked out into a dark apartment lit up with candles. Jack took her to the living room where he sat her beside the piano. He then played her a song he wrote himself about the two of them and their relationship. At the end of the song he pulled out the ring, got down on one knee and proposed. She said no and kicked him. Haha, just kidding. She said yes. =)
MORE ABOUT US
Jack and Ams were both raised in Christian homes with parents who love God. They are both born-again Christians who have accepted Jesus Christ as their personal saviour. They take their faith seriously and try to be the best human beings they can be. Both their families have accepted and blessed their relationship. They are blessed to have such open and accepting families.
RANDOM TIDBIT
Jack was born in Taipei, Taiwan and Ams was born in Bangalore, India. They both immigrated to Canada with their families one day apart. Jack's family arrived in Canada on July 5, 1992 and Ams' family arrived on July 6, 1992. Both families arrived in the same city and airport. We don't believe in fate, destiny, or karma, but that's pretty freaky. God has a sense of humour.
