God's Work
Jack and Ams don't just want to spend their money on themselves and their loved ones, but also on others in this world. Jesus said, "Love your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your strength, and with all your mind; and love your neighbour as yourself." [Luke 10:27]1) Ams is planning on cutting her hair after the wedding and donating it to A Child's Voice Foundation, which makes wigs for children with cancer.
2) Jack has become a monthly sponsor for the WSPCA and Ams has become a monthly sponsor for a young girl in India through Compassion Canada.
Environmental Action
Jack and Ams try to environmentally conscious and are attempting to incorporate eco-friendly initiatives into their wedding planning.1) We have ordered standard envelopes with our invitations to reduce the wastage of paper products. Some invitations come with more than one envelope per invitation for the sake of aesthetic appeal.
2) We are not sending paper RSVP cards with our invitations. Guests will be required to RSVP online, which will send us an e-mail with their information. This will prevent 100 cards from being wasted.
3) We want to encourage our guests to carpool together to reduce car emissions. If you want to carpool with someone else, either to offer a ride or to take one up, please let us know and we will try to see who we can pair you up with.
If you have any ideas of how we can include charitable works or other eco-friendly actions into our wedding, please let us know. We are very open to ideas and suggestions. =)
